Rotoscope
In sophomore year, I created a rotoscope in my film class. To create this, I first filmed myself outside doing a cartwheel and waving. Then, I printed out about 200 frames from this video and traced each one by hand. Finally, I scanned every paper and uploaded it to Adobe Premiere Pro to edit! I did the same process with my name (tracing each frame on paper in different fonts). In Premiere Pro, I was able to add sound, change the colors, and create my final project!
Friday Knight Lights
I experimented with a digital camera that gave the look of an old film camera. My goal was to create a vibey film highlighting how fun my school’s soccer game nights are. Our school mascots are the “Knights”, so we call these games “Friday Knight Lights'“.
Oscar @ school
This film is another 5×5 (5 clips of 5 second videos). My film teacher brings his dog — named Oscar — to school at least once a week. I wanted to make a film that documented what our film classroom looked like from Oscar’s perspective!
5×5
In my film class last year, we had the challenging task of creative a 25 second film using just 5 clips of 5 second videos. We were able to add voiceovers and music before and after the 25 seconds — hence the 49 second clip you see — but the video portion itself was capped at 25 seconds. My film tells the story of a time when I got really mad…!
bye bye, beckett
This film is a love letter to my brother, Beckett! He graduated high school when I was a sophomore, so I wanted to create a video for him showing how much I really appreciate and love him (even though it might not always seem like it).
Personal Video Essay
This 2-minute film goes hand-in-hand with my Common App Personal Statement. Even if you haven’t read it, this will still give you a quick snapshot into an important part of my identity!
